STEINWAY & SONS B-211

I’ve restored many antique pianos, and their exquisite craftsmanship always amazes me; both the materials and the workmanship are top-notch. Even more astonishing is that many of these pianos are 100% original and still playable today. My experience tells me to consider the following: 1. Reconstruction refers to removing old parts and replacing them with new ones. 2. Refurbishment (in most cases) refers to repairing existing parts. Upright pianos from the turn of the century to around the 1930s are generally not worth rebuilding (at least in our area). However, I believe a good refurbishment can breathe new life into an old piano, allowing you to enjoy playing it again. You’ll be amazed at how much the tone and performance of a piano can be improved after refurbishment, restoration, tuning, and a complete overhaul.
