My music teacher mother sent me to a Chinese piano factory as an apprentice when I was 17. 我的音乐老师母亲在我 17岁时把我送到一家中国钢琴厂当学徒。

I studied under Jin Xianbin, a master of piano tuning in China, and Liu Shikun, a famous pianist. After coming to the United States, I received training from the Steinway & Sons factory in New York and related institutions, and mastered the standards of a piano technician. 我师从中国钢琴调律大师金先彬老师和著名钢琴家刘诗昆先生，来到美国先后接受纽约施坦威工厂及其相关培训，掌握了钢琴技师的标准。

I was deeply influenced by Ron Conners, the chief concert technician at the Steinway piano factory in New York, who was known for his expertise in handling the “mechanical structure” of pianos and his extremely meticulous “tone adjustment.”我深受纽约施坦威钢琴厂首席音乐会技师罗恩·康纳斯的影响，他以精湛的钢琴“机械结构”处理技术和极其细致的“音色调整”而闻名。

As an experienced piano teacher who has tutored many students preparing for the Shanghai music examinations, I understand complex musical harmony and intonation theories. Dual Tuning Method: Combining traditional auditory tuning with advanced digital electronic tuning software (such as PianoScope) for precise pitch adjustments. The standard home concert pitch is set at 440 Hz, but can be adjusted to 442 Hz upon request.

In-depth Tuning and Voicing: Known for his patience and responsibility, Mr. Chen typically provides over 5 hours of in-depth tuning with a wide dynamic range. Besides pitch accuracy, he is also skilled in resolving mechanical issues such as voicing, action and keyboard feel/travel calibration.

Antique and Century-Old Piano Restoration: Extensive experience in restoring and adjusting antique pianos (such as classic brands like Story & Clark), frequently maintaining practice pianos for students at institutions like the Manhattan School of Music (MSM).
